First of all Constable Recruitment 2015 –

The notification for 520 Constables had come out in 2015. For this Chandigarh Police Recruitment, the aspirants had filled online applications till 31st Dec 2015. The Recruitment Board had received 2 lac and 40 thousand applications for scrutiny. Check the proper category-wise division of the posts –

General Candidates	Total Constable Posts -286 Male – 193 Female – 260 ESM – 37
OBC	Total -140 Male – 52 Female – 70 ESM – 18
SC	Total – 94 Male – 35 Female – 47 ESM – 12

The age limit was 18 to 25 as on 1st Jan 2015. There was relief in age for Reserved Categories.

Now more than one and a half years have gone since the recruitment was out. The candidates have almost lost hope for joining Chandigarh Police as constables. But the Recruitment related dates are still to be finalized. Some determined candidates have been doing preparation for Physical Test for this long period. As a result, some of the candidates have crossed their age bar waiting for the recruitment process.

New Timing/ Criteria for Constable Race Test –

The administration has provided some relief to the candidates in the Constable Physical Test. It has made some amendment in the previous race criteria. Now the the candidates will have to complete 1600 M race in 6 minutes and 15 seconds. Previously, it was 5 Minutes and 45 Seconds. There are groups for Race Test as per age groups.

Exam and Result Schedule –

The administration shall ensure complete transparency in the written test for Constables Recruitment. There shall be the Objective Type Test of 100 Marks in the Morning. As per some officials, the result for the Written Test shall be out, if possible, either in the evening the same day or the next day morning.

Why is the Constable Recruitment Process delayed ?

The administration has decided to get 54 cameras installed at the Physical Test Venues namely – Ground Sector 26 and Sarangpur located IRB Ground. For that it had issued the tender notice. But no company had applied for it.

However now, the administration has hired one company after 1 and half years. Once the cameras are there, Physical Test of Constable recruitment shall begin. So hopes are on the rise that process shall pick the pace soon.
