There is the dearth of around 70,000 judges to dispense the pending cases in the courts in the country, said Former CJI TS Thakur. This statement indicates towards the brighter prospects for the law students who can clear the Judicial Exams after the Law course.
Update 2022 –
The application process will start from Jan 1, 2022. The application portal will be opened by 31st March 2022. The exam may take place on May 8, 2022 at 3:00 pm.

Latest Update on 10th June 2018 – Supreme Court Directions
The Apex Court will not cancel the CLAT 2018. There were some complaints from the students that there were technical problems during the exam. But it was partial only for 4690 students at some centres across the country. Besides the Honorable Court says that it will not interfere in the counselling for the admission.
It says that the evaluation work of these 4690 students must finish by 15th of June with the release of the merit list. This complete information must be uploaded on the main website. Second round counselling will depend upon this merit list.
Compensation for the 4690 Students – The court has directed to give extra marks to these students keeping in view the loss of their time and the questions they had solved.
CLAT 2022-2023 Answer key –
2022-2023 Answer key ( Solution Key ) shall be out within 2 or 3 days after the test.
The Law Common Entrance Test was held on 14th of May 2017 at 66 cities in the country. This time the CLAT was held by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. The timing of the exam was from 3 pm to 5 pm. The Official Answer key has been out on 25th May 2017.
Last Year CLAT had taken place on 8th of May. As per the report, the answer key carried as many as 15 errors. Instead of helping the examinees in judging their performance, it disturbed them. Now for the fair judgement, they are waiting for their 29/05/2017 exam result.
Date of CLAT Result – The result is expected to be out near about on 31st of of May 2018.

As per the views from some of the CLAT 2017 takers, the exam was not so easy. All of them unanimously believe that English Portion was easy comparing to last year’s paper but the Logical Reasoning and GK portion made them bite their fingers. The students couldn’t guess the answers as there was also the system of negative marking ( 0.25 deducted for any of the wrong attempts)
- The CLAT Expected lower cut off for the General Category candidates may be – 150 to 155
- For OBC Candidates – 145 to 150
- For SC Candidates the lower cut off may be – 136 to 141
- And For ST Candidates – 132 to 137
