This capital city is also the largest city of Karnataka. The state contains 30 districts. The Governor of the state is Mr Vajubhai Vala. The Chief Minister is BS Yaddyurappa ( BJP ). He is the 19th Chief Minister of the State. Despite chosen as the biggest party, the BJP couldn’t form the govt. This is the govt in collaboration ( Congress and JD (S). The state has bicameral govt with 224 +75 seats.
The total area of Karnataka is around 1,91,791 sq km. Area-wise, the state enjoys the 7th position in teh country. In population, state has 8th rank with 61,130, 704 people living here. People speak the official language Kannada. Literacy rate is 75.60% which makes it the 16th most educated state of the country. The state slips to 23rd slot in literacy rate if UTs are also included.
