Nehru Institute of Mountaineering , Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand –
This institute came in to existence in 1965. This is the most reputed mountaineering institute in Asia. The courses which this institute provides – Basic Mountaineering Course, Advance Mountaineering Course, Search and Rescue Course etc.
National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh –
This is one of the newest institutions. It was set up in 2013. The courses are in land, aero, aqua.
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling, West Bengal –
Year of establishment- 1954. The courses are – Adventure Courses, Basic Mountaineering Course, Advance Mountaineering Course, Methods of Instruction Course and Courses in climbing, rock etc. The candidates shall get the opportunity of climbing Kanchenjunga.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali, Himachal Pradesh –
It came in to being in 1961. Courses the aspirants can do from here – Basic Mountaineering Course, Advance Mountaineering Course, Snow skiing, Water Course etc. This is the largest adventure sports training centre of India.
Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, Pahalgam, J and K – 1983
The courses are Basic Mountaineering Course, Advance Mountaineering Course, Method of Instruction, Basic/ Advance Skiing Course, Basic Paragliding etc.
