The Eligibility Test has been made mandatory for those who wish to be teachers in various Govt and Govt -aided schools in the state.There are two papers namely Paper 1 and Paper 2.
The Paper 1 is meant for the those who aspire to teach the classes from 1 to 5 whereas the Paper 2 is for who are interested in teaching from 6 to 8.

Paper 1 Contents –
Child Development and Pedagogy – In this portion your knowledge of Children’s Psychology shall be checked. This is based on teaching method as to how to teach students as per their mental capability.
Language 1 ( Odia/ Urdu ) –
This is local language test. There is the option for the candidates. Basic knowledge of either of the languages is must.
Language 2 – English
Basic knowledge of English language is necessary.
Then there are mathematics and Environmental Studies.

This is just the Eligibility Test. The candidates must have Qualifying marks. 60% marks are must for the General candidates. Out of 150 Marks 90 marks are necessary.
