There are thousands of candidates keep asking the same questions” Are Public Administration and Pol Science same Subjects in Govt Recruitment ?” Can the holder of PG Degree in one of them can claim job for the post fixed for other subject ? Now the answer of this question is very clear.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has made it quite clear that Public Ad and Political Science are two different subjects. Besides the court says these two subjects can not be considered the same. In its judgement, the court has categorically said when these two subjects are different, how the candidate holding PAD can teach Political Science.
The holder of the degree in one of these two subjects can’t claim job meant for other subject. High Court gave this verdict settling the petition filed by Bhiwani resident Reena and others. The petitioner is the Post Graduate in Political Science.
Public Administration and Political Science are Different Subjects – Chandigarh High Court
She had applied for the Post of Assistant Professor in Political Science in CR Kisan College Jind. She had fulfilled all the required conditions by UGC. She had also cleared National Eligibility Exam in her subject. She was in the merit list. However, the Selection Committee for the purpose had appointed another candidate named Yudhveer. He was holding PG Degree in Public Ad.
The petitioner had alleged that the representative of VC Kurukshetra University and Selection Committee had done that appointment flaunting the rules and regulations. Even she said that even the Principal had hidden the facts to facilitate that appointment.
During the debate in the court, both the govt and college administration had put forward the plea that both Public Ad and Political Science are the same subjects. However, the Hon’ble High Court refused to admit this plea saying that for the Post of Assistant Professor ( Political Science) only the candidate holding this degree be appointed. Therefore the HC has cancelled the recruitment on this post that had taken place in 2012.

I am M.A. (Public Administration) and M.A. (political Science). Hence, I am Double M.A. The wrong word is being used i.e. “interchangeable” i.e. one & the same thing for these two M.A.s is not only wrong rather illegal. University Grants Commission U/s 22 of UGC Act, 1956 recognizes these two different M.A. i.e. NET (Political Science) CODE:02, NET (Public Administration) CODE: 14. Hence, these Political Science and Public Administration are two different SUBJECTS.
