The Punjab and Haryana Govt has provided a great relief to all the extension lectures ( Non-eligible) who had been teaching in govt colleges. These lecturers had to lose their jobs recently. Now the govt had to take all these unqualified teachers till it gets qualified teachers. In July 2017, Haryana Govt had given shown the way to all the extension teachers who had been teaching the children in govt institutions for years as they were unqualified and new recruitment process was about to be on.
The concerned Directorate had passed the orders that ineligible extension lecturers would have to leave their jobs. In the view of the directorate, those extension lecturers who had not qualified UGC NET was unqualified. Due to this action, around 2,000 extension lecturers had lost their jobs. Moreover, some of them had challenged this step of the DHE in Punjab and Haryana High Court. Those who had challenged this decision of the directorate were Chanchal, Lakshmi, Sushma, Manju, Archana etc. High Court Judge Amol Ratan Singh had listened to this petition for a long time. After listening to this, he provided a great relief to the petitioners.
However, it is necessary to comment that only those extension lecturers will get the job again whose services are required to teach subjects in the colleges. It means the extension lecturers will get the job if there is the necessity to teach the concerned subject.
