MA English ( Literature ) Scope/ Career
Teaching at School High Level –
The candidates having MA English with B.Ed can get jobs as TGT English in schools. However, they must also have CTET or the TET of the concerned state for that.
Teaching at Sr Secondary Level Schools –
With 50% marks in MA English ( Literature) and B.Ed + CTET or TET of the concerned state, the candidates can get jobs as PGT English / Jr Lecturer to teach 9th to 12 classes.
College / University Level Teachers –
If you have MA English with 55% marks ( exemption in marks for Reserved categories) and have cleared National Eligibility Test ( NET), or you have PhD degree in your bag, you can apply for Assistant Professors at College or university level.
Jobs as Journalists –
There is a great demand of those having fluency in English in both Electronic and Print Media. For the Print Media, you should have flair in writing as well. You can become News Anchor, Reporter in both types of Media houses. However, if you must have degree or diploma in journalism to have edge over others.
