Before you join TA, you must have a bit of idea about it. This is type of Army with 2 lakh troops serving in it. It also has its domestic name called Terriers. This army has shown bravery on various occasions. This is the army of the volunteers who wish to give selfless services at the second line of Defence.

It means the soldiers under TA don’t go to the actual borders but serve the country withing borders. Here are people from various walks of life with professional occupations. Some celebrities like Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni, Politician Sachin Pilot have joined TA at various ranks.

Types of Territorial Army ( TA) –

Infantry Battalion, Med Regt, Coast Battery, AMC Field Ambulance, Engineers Field Park Coy etc.

With the tussles with our two neighbours like Pakistan and China and to cope some internal disturbances, there is more demand from TA. As a result, recruitment is a part of the day. TA has announced the recruitment for posts of- Soldier GD, Clerk and Tradesman posts.

The Zones are-

Zone 1- Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, HP and J & K

Zone 2- MP, UP, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chattisgarh

And Zone 3- West Bangal, Sikkim, Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Adman & Nicobar

Zone 4- Gujrat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Lakshadweep, Daman & Dui and Pondicherry.

Due to the outburst of Corona Virus across the world the Army has put off its recruitment for some time.  

Age and Educational Eligibility for Territorial Army ( TA)

For getting recruited in TA, the aspirants’ age must fall between 18 and 42. As for the educational qualification, the candidates must acquire it according to the posts.

For the Soldier ( GD) the aspirants must be 10th pass with 45% marks. Besides they must ensure at least 33 marks in each individual subject.

If you wish to apply for the clerical posts, you should be 12th pass with 50 % marks and 40% in individual subject.

For the technical posts, the candidates must have relevant degree/diploma.

For the posts of Tradesman, 8th/10th / ITI is required.

What is the Selection Procedure for Joining TA –

Physical Efficiency Test – That is the first and foremost test that checks the candidates’ physical efficiency.

Written Exam – Those who clear the first hurdle faces the Written Test.

Total Posts are Forty Five. The schedule of the Bharti is from 17th of July 2017 to 28th of July 2017. The place of recruitment is – Panzgam ALG

Recruitment in 162 Infantry Battalion

There are Twenty Four Posts. The rally / bharti shall take place from 21st August 2017 t0 26th August 2017. Venue of Bharti is JAK LI Regt Centre, Srinagar.

For the 2nd Zone Bharti –

Recruitment for 108 Infantry Battalion Mahar

There are total Twenty Seven Posts. Schedule shall begin on 11th of Sept 2017 and ends on 16 September 2017. The venue is Dehradun (Uttarakhand).
